Skydance Paramount Set to Cut Nearly 2,000 United States Roles – Update

Skydance Paramount will initiate significant workforce reductions during the week starting 27 October, removing approximately 2,000 positions in the United States within a cost-cutting plan valued at $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.

The layoffs are a result of the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized this past August worth $8.4bn.

Further overseas workforce reductions are likely, with the company aiming to announce full details during its third-quarter financial update scheduled for November 10.

Earlier reports stated the firm aimed to reduce from 2,000 and 3,000 roles before the start of November.

By December 2024, the organization had nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees along with 3,500 temporary project employees.

The organization did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
